Pastor Steve DeWitt has had the joy of serving as Senior Pastor at Bethel Church for 14 years. His primary responsibilities at Bethel are teaching at weekend services, leading the staff, serving as an Elder, and providing overall vision for the church.

Steve’s passions include expository preaching, helping Christians engage their culture, and the beauty of God. He often speaks in contexts outside of Bethel Church and especially enjoys seeing God’s work in other parts of the world.

A graduate of Cornerstone University and Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, Steve’s general interests include sports of all kinds, rooting for University of Iowa athletics, playing guitar, and traveling. He can be found regularly on golf courses across NW Indiana.

The Journey is the media ministry of Bethel Church. Over the past 7 years, it has been a half hour broadcast format on Moody Radio and the Calvary Radio Network. In 2011, the delivery system changed to a one-minute daily program called The Daily Journey. These one minute media broadcasts began on Moody Radio FM Chicago. Each broadcast is taken from a featured sermon of the week and utilize the internet and podcasts to deliver the message in its entirety. It is our desire that The Daily Journey would draw listeners to the full exposition of God’s Word each week on The Journey.

Bethel Church is a growing, non-denominational, evangelical church that is striving to exalt Jesus Christ through expository preaching, God-saturated worship, loving community, and gospel outreach. We are 45 minutes south of downtown Chicago in Northwest Indiana. We have one Saturday night service (6:00) and two Sunday morning services (9:00 and 10:45).
